Freediving or apnea is the sport, science or art of holding your breath while being underwater.

Many of us are familiar with snorkelling or scuba diving. Snorkelling is usually on the surface and freediving simply involves holding your breath, diving down and swimming around under water. It can be 1 metre deep or 50 metres deep and for a few brief seconds or minutes at a time

Course Information:
 I will have the calendar for the summer courses up soon but you can also book in for a half day taster session any day or weekend we are not running a full day or two day course. The half day session is just to whet your appetite and in it we cover the safety lecture and some stretching and breathing, then into the Ocean and get on down. Cost is €65 for the half day and can be morning or afternoon which ever suits you. This can be booked by individuals or small groups. Gear is provided or you can use your own if you have it. APNEA DISCOVERY is for whoever wants to start or improve their underwater journey by learning relaxation and breathing techniques. To look inside themselves to discover the wellness provided by freediving and to discover in harmony with the environment our marvelous underwater world made up of colours and lights found no where else on land.

The STAGE WEEKEND is an intensive two and a bit day course in freediving. If you are comfortable in the water and can dive to 5m plus easily then this is the course for you.

The Friday evening consists of course outline and theory session.

Saturday we have theory sessions, relaxation and breathing, one pool and one ocean session. If you are staying over with us either night after a BBq on Saturday evening we will show a freedivng related movie in the classroom
